Late fall of 2012, Will & I were contacted to come down to Westport, CT to assess a statue that was broken during tree removal after the hurricane Sandy that hit CT. This marble statue has been in the family for at least 3 generations now. The owner was heartbroken when he found it cracked in half on the ground. This stone is sculpted into a lovely feminine shape; its free flowing form is quite captivating. Mr. William Karosi was walking his dog when he introduced himself and we started talking about history, and aircraft. He told us of the day when a P-47 Thunderbolt crashed right into the very woods we were at. He said we won’t find much, if anything, about it in the history books, but he was here and watched it happen. Beyond the Gravestone attended a Unique Christmas Fair to support the Connecticut Gavestone Networks, East Hartford Center Cemetery project on Saturday December 8, in East Hartford. We had a table displaying our services and met a number of people interested in this field. We had a great day talking about history and restoration and seeing the other vendors that were there.
